Coral Gables


Coral Gables, known as the "City Beautiful", was founded in 1925 by developer George Merrick. The city's major entrances are marked with graceful coral rock arches dating back to the 1920s. Virtually every residential street is lined with stately trees, and many are covered in canopies of banyans, oaks and royal Poinciana trees. Many of the Mediterranean-style homes, businesses and public buildings from the 1920s and earlier have been lovingly preserved or restored by Gables residents.     Biscayne Point is a residential island, separated from the main barrier island of Miami Beach by the Tatum Waterway and Indian Creek. The area consists of a large multi-family apartment district known as Biscayne Beach, as well as two distinctly different single-family residential neighborhoods: Biscayne Point and Stillwater Drive.

  • Normandy Shores

    Normandy Shores is a residential island with approximately 300 single family homes and 43 apartment buildings surrounding the Normandy Shores Golf Course and Fairway Park . Normandy Shores is accessed via the adjacent Normandy Isle, which is linked to Miami Beach at 71 st Street.

  • North Shore

    North Shore is highly urbanized and densely populated with multifamily apartments and condominiums. The commercial district is located along Collins Avenue and 71st Street.

  • Normandy Isle

    Normandy Isle contains approximately 422 single family homes located in the central section of the island and two large multi-family residential districts located at the east and west ends of the island. A small commercial district is centered around the Normandy Fountain near the east end of the island.

  • La Gorce

    La Gorce includes La Gorce Island and Allison Island . The area is generally comprised of single-family residential streets with no institutional uses. North Bay Road, Alton Road, Pine Tree Drive, and La Gorce Drive are all comprised of large-lot, single family homes.

  • Oceanfront

    Oceanfront includes the area from 23 rd Street north to 63 rd Street from the Atlantic Ocean on the east to the Indian Creek waterway on the west. The area is generally comprised of condominiums, hotels, and commercial uses along the street level.

  • Nautilus

    Nautilus consists of single-family homes and includes Mount Sinai Medical Center, Miami Heart Institute, Nautilus Middle School , and North Beach Elementary School . Arthur Godfrey Road (41 st Street), a State roadway, is a major commercial corridor to the southern border of this neighborhood, with Alton Road on the west side, and Pine Tree Drive along the east side of the neighborhood.

  • Bayshore

    Bayshore includes the Sunset Islands and the Sunset Harbor area and encompasses a variety of "sub-neighborhoods" within its geographic boundaries. These include single-family areas, principal arterial roadways, and multi-family areas.

  • City Center

    City Center is a very diverse neighborhood consisting of single and multi family residential, commercial and retail uses. The center of the neighborhood includes the Miami Beach Convention Center, Jackie Gleason Theater, City Hall and the Botanical Gardens and is the home of the Lincoln Road pedestrian mall.

  • Flamingo/Lummus

    Flamingo/Lummus neighborhood, also known as the Art Deco District, is located in the heart of the South Miami Beach and includes much of the National Register Architectural District. The neighborhood is composed of two distinct development districts occurring to either side of the neighborhood's main arterial, Washington Avenue. The neighborhood to the west of Washington Avenue is comprised of low-rise condominiums including a small enclave of single-family structures directly west of Flamingo Park. The neighborhood located to the east of Washington Avenue and surrounding Lummus Park forms the commercial and mixed-use entertainment component of Art Deco and is deemed to be the most popular tourist attraction in South Florida and one of the most successful revitalization projects in the world.

  • South Pointe

    South Pointe is an up and coming area with the newest high rises, restaurants, and nighclubs in town. Just south of the Art Deco district, the area is vibrant yet laid back.

  • West Avenue/Bay Road

    West Avenue/Bay Road neighborhood is located in the south Miami Beach area, west of the Flamingo Park Neighborhood. The neighborhood consists multi-family development along the Biscayne Bay front with single-family and smaller multi-family structures throughout the remaining area.

  • Venetian Isles

    Venetian Isles includes Belle Isle, Di Lido, Rivo Alto and San Marino Islands . In general, the area encompasses a variety of "sub-neighborhoods" within its geographic boundaries. These include single-family areas, principal arterial roadways, and multi-family areas.
